The Steel and The Cat
Chapter 2
For once in his life things were looking up. He’d finally landed that promotion he had been working towards for almost a year, he’d finally gotten his brother to confess to the girl he liked, and his mother was finally well again after being bedridden for weeks. Things were really looking up but of course when things were looking up for him something always went bad.
Said bad thing stared lazily back at him. It’s tail flicking ever so slightly as it lounged on his table. The cat was way too happy about spilling his entire glass of water. He was about ready to kill the damn cat but the thing was his only company at the moment, as his last roommate had moved out over two weeks ago and the cat had been a damn college graduation present from his mother.
He sighed loudly and moved the black cat off the table, quickly reaching for a few napkins to clean up the mess. He growled the entire time as the blue eyed cat had a look as if it were laughing at him.

The damn cat followed him everywhere! It was like a dog, running with him as he took his first jog of the day. It trotted right beside him like he was racing him. The cat was strange, his mother always had a knack for getting the strangest things for him and this just added to it.
When he got to the park he sat on one of the many benches that littered the grounds. The thing hopped up beside him and laid down against his leg, purring loudly.
He sat there for a good long time just staring at the dull blue sky above him but looked down at the sudden new weight on his leg and meow came from the newcomer. His cat looked up curiously, still purring.
He heard pounding footsteps coming towards him quickly.
“Soel! Where’d you go? Brother will kill me if you-” The man yelling after the cat stopped and looked at him with large eyes. Kurogane looked back at the blonde haired man with just as large eyes.
“Kurogane!”
